Watch classic Tavernier as disappointed Ibrox skipper explains Champions League disappointment

James Tavernier was in disappointed mode last night as he spoke to TNT about his disappointment at getting hammered out of the Champions League at the Play Off stage.

For Tav there has been a lot of disappointments since he arrived at Ibrox in the summer of 2015 as part of the Warbo Revolution!

There has been a large number of Revolutions! Over the last eight years but the former Wigan ace has remained constant throughout, picking up two winners medals inbetween 22 disappointments.

With the armband comes additional media responsibilities with the veteran defender well used to the excuses to churn out after major defeats.

Last night he again came up with a goal, giving his side hope for 91 seconds before Luuc de Jong restored PSV’s two goal lead, television pictures showed the disappointment on Tav’s face.

Speaking to TNT he came up with:

We’re all really disappointed in that changing room. It’s something, as players, we knew how much it meant to the club, the fans and ourselves to try and get into the Champions League.

We came here in a good position with a level scoreline. It was all there to be played for.

First half, we probably gave them too much space but changing little bits of tactics here and there we knew we were going to create chances.

You go 2-0 down then 2-1 but we concede really quickly after we score. The manner of the goals is really poor. I’m really disappointed in that.
