Charlie Adam has suggested that Kyogo Furuhashi could be a transfer target for Leicester or Wolves!
The former Dundee ace now has a coaching role at Burnley alongside a variety of media gigs.
Two years ago Adam was in the Dundee side that welcomed Kyogo to the SPFL with the striker scoring a hat-trick during a 6-0 win that saw the veteran midfielder replaced after 60 minutes.
Over the past two seasons the Celtic striker has demonstrated that he is a cut above every other striker in Scotland with his pace and movement a constant threat to defenders.
No-one knows the ability of Kyogo better than Ange Postecoglou who put his faith in the Vissel Kobe winger to replace the goals of Odsonne Edouard as he rebuilt the Celtic team, almost from scratch.
Since Harry Kane’s move to Bayern Munich gained momentum there has been growing speculation that Postecoglou could return to Celtic but Adam has another couple of English options in mind for Scotland’s multiple Player of the Year award winner.
Picking up on a podcast, the Daily Record reports Adam saying:
I’m fortunate enough that I managed to play against Kyogo. In terms of what he offers, he has terrific movement and energy, you know he can score a goal.
If Premier League clubs want to sign him, they’ll have to pay big money for him. Kyogo is clever enough to be able to adapt in the Premier League. What I will say is, it’ll take a lot of money to get him away from Celtic. I’m not sure who’s looking at him but maybe he’s a player Leicester can replace Jamie Vardy with – or even a club like Wolves.
Leicester aren’t in the EPL, with demotion spending has been reigned in, continuing from last summer when Brendan Rodgers was operating with his hands tied behind his back.
For Leicester 2022 look at Wolves 2023 as Financial regulations ensure sustainability.
Faced with that reality Julen Lopetegui resigned on the eve of the new season. New manager Gary O’Neil knows that he has to work with the squad he has inherited, there won’t be much in the way of transfer funds.
Celtic fans won’t be too worried about Leicester or Wolves moving for Kyogo but once Postecoglou spends a good chunk of the Bayern Munich fee on a new striker things will be a bit clearer with Kyogo at Celtic. The sooner Postecoglou gets a striker the better.

Charlie Adam ..what a guy ! Anyone who embarasses himself the way he did with the tree escapade last year , should move to Outer Botswana until the laughing and sniggering died down altogether . No ,not our Chas … Surely he can’t be skint already that he has to raise his head above the parapet to earn a few sheckles to tidy him over ? The guy’s about as useful as a plastic tea bag ….
