Adam Brooks wastes no time making an impact at Inverness Caley Thistle

Adam Brooks made a flying start to his Inverness Caley Thistle career with two goals in the first seven minutes in a friendly away to Forfar Athletic tonight.

Only an offside flag denied the striker his hat-trick in the 18th minute but that isn’t likely to upset Billy Dodds as he watches his new striker in action for the first time.

Brooks signed off from Celtic with a double in the Glasgow Cup Final win at Ibrox in May, after a decade at the club the opportunity of first team football at a high level held more appeal than a third season in the Lowland League.

Celtic return to the Lowland League on July 22 when they visit Cumbernauld Colts at Broadwood.

Six matches in the UEFA Youth League will provide the u-19s with great experience but complimenting that with regular meaningful matches is proving to be a tough challenge.

Ben Summers and Rocco Vata have both excelled in the Lowland League but it is unrealistic to expect them to then step into the Celtic first team.

Getting out on loan to a Championship club would give both players the chance to shine- just as Brooks looks like doing for Inverness Caley Thistle.
