A direct replacement for Jota is unlikely but as Rodgers redesigns the Celtic squad it might be a case that Fraser fits the bill with Romano expecting talks to progress this week.
The former Scotland ace has been offered to the Hoops and a host of clubs in England as Magpies gaffer Eddie Howe is keen to get out-of-favour 29-year-old off the books.
Celtic wouldn’t be able to match Fraser’s current wages but could put in a decent offer alongside the prospect of first team football and a route back into the Scotland squad.
Fraser would give Celtic what appears to be a very decent option on the left wing but his career has stalled at best since Lockdown.
How much interest and ambition Fraser has is unknown, he has enjoyed the riches of the EPL for six seasons and may not have the appetite for a fresh challenge and the demands expected at Celtic.
