Back in 2016 McGregor’s future was far from certain at Celtic, after breaking through at the start of the 2014/15 season under Ronny Deila his form and appearances had started to drift.
You can’t have new faces coming on on high salaries when the ones who have been successful in the past are left behind. The question now turns to just who will be signed.
He’s the heartbeat of this team. He’s taken on the responsibility of being captain of a worldwide institution with great effect and we’ll look to continue that development.
It’s great that we’ve managed to get him back and it’s obviously a really positive step for the club. You know it’s a real statement of intent.
