His first match was a 3-2 win over Hibs at Ibrox assisted by some strange handball decisions from Nick Walsh.
A few days later Beale took his side to Aberdeen, winning 3-2 with Willie Collum finding seven minutes of stoppage time which allowed Scott Arfield to turn the scoreline around. Collum and VAR missed a bizarre handball where James Tavernier used his arm to knock the ball onto the post.
In January Beale signed Todd Cantwell and Nico Raskin to boost the squad of the Europa League finalists, by the end of April the new boss had lost to Celtic in the SPFL, Viaplay Cup and Scottish Cup.
All through those 29 matches he was able to deflect the mildest of criticism with a reminder that he had arrived in mid-season, was responsible for the good fings with Giovanni van Bronckhorst the villain of the piece.
Beale brought in nine new players before the first game of the season at Kilmarnock, his THIRTIETH match in charge of the club.
Under pressure after two dodgy performances Beale would like it to be known that the match at Rugby Park was his first in charge.
He managed QPR for 22 matches before ditching loyalty to move to Ibrox, tomorrow against Livingston will be his 32nd match in charge, his predecessor van Bronckhorst lasted 69 games in 368 days, Beale has his work cut out to last that long.
