Despite a reported stand off with his club, Yang Hyun-Jun turned out for Gangwon in lThursday night’s 1-1 draw at home to Gwangju.
Over the last week there has been a number of comments made by the player and Gangwon President Kim Byung-ji about alleged promises regarding a transfer to Europe.
It seems that most of the financial details for a 2.5m euros transfer to Celtic are in place but there is one very major stumbling block.
Gangwon want to hold on to their winger until the end of the season, possibly on a sale and loan back basis, but both the player and Celtic want the deal to go through straight away.

Kim Byung-ji on Yang Hyun-jun over his stalled move to Celtic via MyDaily: “I spoke with his father and agent during the international break. His camp has made a big mistake to us. I won’t get into details as there will be backlash, but they’ve broken our trust. This is a fact.” https://t.co/Ksq5dXz0qh

Rather than accept the offer from Celtic and buy a replacement Gangwon seem determined to hold on to a player who has expressed his desire to move elsewhere.
Yang has started 18 K-League matches this season and made two substitute appearances with Gangwon sitting in 11th place in the 12 team division.
