It only required one tweet from Sacha Tavolieri to launch the Daily Record into action.
Out came the well used Alfredo Morelos template and a bidding war was underway for the hottest young striker in European football.
While Adam Idah can do nothing right despite picking up four winners medals and notching three Champions League goals and a priceless assists the second choice striker at the SPFL runners up can do no wrong.
A short burst of goals around the turn of the year was all that it took for the media messengers to go overboard, when the goals and appearances dried up Igamane wasn’t subjected to the full on Nicolas Kuhn treatment.
Fortunately the mentality of the Daily Record Sports Desk doesn’t carry much weight when foreign clubs decide to invest their Euros.

The Record claims:
It’s only 12 months since the Moroccan was signed for just £1.7m from AS FAR. Given the need to improve the player trading model, then a bumper offer could be too good to turn down. But what would be acceptable?
Reports have suggested Rangers had set a £20m fee. The £19m the Light Blues got from Ajax for Calvin Bassey is their record sale by some distance so it could even top that.
Lille’s most expensive signings are David for £25m and Victor Osimhen for around £18m so they aren’t scared to spend on potential.
And that’s about it unless you add in wishful thinking and the Morelos template when the Ibrox Tribute Act held out for Dembele Dollars then lost the chunky striker as a free agent.
Back then it was always Porto, Sevilla and AN Other that were set to launch a bid or keeping tabs on the bad tempered Columbian.
Coming from Morocco it seems that France is the likely destination for Igamane with his agents busy generating interest and leaking the details to favoured media messengers.
The 22-year-old started 29 out of 59 matches last season, scoring 16 goals. It is a fair return, a decent marker but nothing that is going to have clubs from a major European league throwing serious money at.
Especially in France where clubs are coming to terms with the collapse of a television deal, if the lads at the Record require any clues a Google search for Lyon should enlighten them.
DAZN have pulled out a year into their five year deal with the French League which was due to pay in €325m. The current climate isn’t great for finding replacement deals.
Lille and others will know the salary that Igamane is on at Ibrox, around a quarter of what Cyriel Dessers picks up.
It won’t be difficult to offer the Moroccan a significant pay rise- then sit back and watch the transfer fee crash to a more realistic level, just as Robin Propper and Dessers are doing.
Meanwhile Russell Martin waits and waits for the windfalls, kittys and war-chests that he has been reading about over the last few months with Lyall Cameron, Oscar Cortes and Max Arrons the only arrivals with Panathinaikos due at Ibrox in less than four weeks.
😂😂😂 wait for “undisclosed.”
You just need to Google Lille to find out about their financial situation. They’re not paying record fees for any Scottish player, especially one as unproven as him. 😭
