Thousands joined the Celtic Fans Collective as they protested ahead of the home match against Aberdeen.
While the club and their media messengers attempt to demonise the Collective the kick-back is significant.
The more than the fans are smeared the greater the Collective becomes both in numbers and resolve.
Ahead of today’s protests there were two significant events to galvanise backing for the Collective.
On Friday the Daily Record, STV News and the Sun all ran with the ridiculous story of a blade being flashed towards directors at Tannadice on Wednesday night.
COLLECTIVE STRENGTH
It was on course complete nonsense. But with no consequences from attacking the Celtic support the Record dedicated a full page on Saturday to the ‘moron’ with the blade. Billy Gaddi was the moron with the laptop.
That was followed on Saturday by a moron with a microphone.
Tom English was laying into the Celtic support, with Jeanette Findlay was his main target. Surprisingly Kenny Macintyre allowed Peter Kelly from the Celtic Fans Collective on to put English right. Setting the record straight some might call it/
Kelly delivered a masterclass. He picked English up and corrected him on every one of his lazy claims.
The allegations about threats to Peter Lawwell were countered by the ridiculous blade reports. English quickly realised he was on the losing side, much like when he was cheerleading for Craig Whyte.
The more than Celtic and their media partners attack the stronger the Collective grows
Among their favourite claims are two bogey-men. The Green Brigade and Findlay.
Celtic like to quietly push the notion that the Collective is a front for the Green Brigade. Noisy, lawless Ultras with political agendas.
The age range of today’s demonstration disproved that claim. The Collective is drawn from all age ranges There are22 people in the Steering Group. Kelly is one, Findlay is one among many.
There are a range of talents within the Collective.
CORPORATE CELTIC ON RETREAT
Over the course of four months they have made incredible progress. Exposing how fragile Celtic are. So far they have panicked a Chairman into aborting an AGM followed by his resignation. After four years of silence Michael Nicholson has given two interviews to Celtic TV. The content has confirmed why he is kept away from communications and should never be be near the job of CEO.
Nicholson and Chris McKay owe their Celtic careers and bloated salaries to their mentor- Lawwell. He will still be there for support but stripped of his title his influence will wane.
Neither Nicholson or McKay would survive an audit or corporate review. Both are younger than their hero Lawwell, they really ought to be looking at other career opportunities where their limitations aren’t in the public eye.
The phrase one down more to go really jarred with Tom English. That is good enough reason to continue that line of attack.
From behind the twitching curtains in the hospitality areas the message from the Collective was being delivered.
The Adidas Account manager must be having nightmares as sales figures plunge while stock is piling higher and higher at warehouses. Celtic fans aren’t the pushover that many assumed them to be.
RISING DISCONTENT
The January transfer window opens in ten days, clubs can conclude business just now. Players in Scandinavia, Japan and the MLS are in close season, deals are there to be made.
Without the Collective Nicholson would be charging ahead with his intention to sell Daizen Maeda and Reo Hatate. Selling Yang Hyun-jun would be a bonus deal.
Having watched his managed decline drop the managed part Nicholson knows that he has to recruit. A proper striker and aright winger have to be signed in the first week of January, preferably registered with the SFA on January 1.
Anything less will be another failure on the part of the gormless CEO. He really doesn’t want to draw further attention to his failings.
And all the while the Collective are looking over the shoulders that he shrugged when he met with the malcontents in October.
2026 is going to be every bit as uncomfortable as the second half of 2025 was for the Celtic Executives. Regardless of the smears, bans and planted stories that they conjure up with their failing PR minders.
Those anti-establishment types despised by Ross Desmond just aren’t going to go away.
