Keith Jackson’s latest Ibrox EXCLUSIVE was shot down after just one hour!
At 6pm on the Daily Record Hotline podcast their star reporter revealed that there was a £5.5m clause to sign Vaclav Cerny on a permanent basis from Wolfsborg.
Cerny was signed on loan last July, incredibly the option to buy was missed by all of the legacy media outlets until 6pm on Wednesday.
Unfortunately, just after 7pm the Rangers Review trashed Jackson’s claim.
In the pomp of Dave Murray and Craig Whyte no-one would have doubted a story from Jackson, in 2025 there is no outlet more on message than the Rangers Review, the Newsquest outlet that fronts up as fan media

Sadly the EXCLUSIVE had barely been broadcast before a far more credible source knocked it down.
Rangers are exploring options to keep Vaclav Cerny at Ibrox but don’t possess an exclusive option to buy the winger, the Rangers Review has learned.
The 27-year-old, on loan from Wolfsburg, has 17 goals and 7 assists this season.

The Rangers Review explained:
Rangers remain interested in landing Vaclav Cerny on a permanent deal but don’t possess an exclusive purchase option for the winger, the Rangers Review has learned.
Earlier today reports suggested that the Ibrox club held an exclusive option to buy the Cezch winger for £5.5million before the end of May.
The report continued:
Cerny, 27, has scored 17 goals and managed seven assists during an impressive loan spell from German club Wolfsburg this season. That form has attracted interest from around Europe for the Cezch international, with the French and Spanish leagues both possible destinations.
The right-winger joined the Bundesliga club from FC Twente in the summer of 2023 but struggled to nail down a regular spot in the German top flight.
The deal Cerny signed in Germany in 2023 runs until 2027 and while Rangers will explore options to keep the player at the club permanently, the Rangers Review understands that there was not an exclusive option-to-buy clause included in the loan deal to bring him to Ibrox last summer.
A source close to the move insisted that the German outfit did not want such a clause inserted at the time. As previously reported, Cerny was available for loan earlier in the summer due in part to this fact.
The main thrust of Jackson’s latest EXCLUSIVE was to push his hopes that the so-called Takeover of the club goes through.
The deadline on the Cerny buy-out clause is some unknown date in May with the Record reporter expecting the Takeover to be completed at some point in April.
His Takeover sources have been wrong in the past with important fine detail.
Basically the onus is on the current Ibrox regime to sign up Cerny, if the deal doesn’t happen it will be a blow for the ‘American consortium’ who are about to bring transformational change to the ailing club. Not their fault.
Five weeks after Jackson broke the WORLD EXCLUSIVE there has been no concrete developments beyond carefully timed leaks to favoured media outlets.
There has been no statement from the club confirming that an offer has been made, other than Dave King none of the five major shareholders have said anything on the offer, not even Douglas Park who lives 30 minutes away from Ibrox.
From the San Francisco 49ers the story quickly downgraded within two days to mystery man Andrew Cavenagh, he has been in Europe to watch a few matches but other than 10 seconds with Sky Sports News after the Fenerbahce match has said nothing on his exciting plans.
No price has been mentioned to purchase the shares, since the WORLD EXCLUSIVE the club has converted £5.3m of debt into shares and taken an advance from Macquarie Bank on future transfer fees.
The Cerny EXCLUSIVE looks like another attempt to force through the Takeover, it seems only a matter of time before due diligence uncovers some serious issues while the club found guilty of racism by UEFA lives in fear that they are about to have a stand closed down due to the toxic nature of their supporters.
