‘Boy is another media myth’ ‘They open their mouth then crumble’ ‘Fish faced freak’ Barron sends out Ibrox title warning!

The Daily Record has conjured up Connor Barron throwing down the gauntlet to Celtic and Aberdeen over his side’s title challenge.

Last Sunday he was throwing in the towel at Kilmarnock, substituted midway through the second half after another display of sideways passing and barely crossing the halfway line.

To be fair to Barron there is very little of a challenge thrown out in his comments but if you wish to speak to the Daily Record these things happen.

On Saturday the ailing Glasgow based published was thrown into a Craig Whyte like frenzy with the news that 78-year-old Whisky Tycoon might invest in the Tribute Act is everything about the club was completely different.

Walker has already watched out club from Ibrox go into liquidation and be dissolved, it would be damn bad luck if he got to live through another liquidation.

On the park Barron is being talked up to Nathan Patterson levels, mainly in the absence of anyone else at Ibrox to drool over.

Earlier this year Mohamed Diomande was being given the Balon d’Or treatment from the Record, 12 months earlier it was Todd Cantwell and Nicky Raskin that were set to rake in Dembele Dollars from the much delayed Player Trading Model.

It only takes one victory to get the drums out at Ibrox, earlier this season it was Ross County with A Proper Football Manager drooling over the club’s biggest win in four years. Then he visited Celtic Park.

On Thursday after the demolition of FCSB he was telling the media messengers that it was the biggest group stage win in 16 years, referencing the old club that last played in 2012.

Since the rout of Ross County Barron has watched his new club turned over by Celtic, Lyon and Kilmarnock, after each defeat there has been a victory and the usual message about learning lessons and bouncing back stronger.

Facing St Mirren today Barron is nine points behind his former club, the one he faces on Wednesday night and who are still waiting on a compensation fee for the 22-year-old who left in the summer.

If anything less than six points is taken from the matches against St Mirren and Aberdeen Barron could well find himself working under yet another manager, last season he played under Barry Robson, Neil Warnock and Peter Leven with the Dons finishing in the bottom six.

Three months into his Ibrox career Barron is still waiting for his first goal in a blue shirt, with just two goals on his career CV the midfielder should avoid media work until he has achieved something in his career.

It is unlikely that Callum McGregor or even Graeme Shinnie will be losing any sleep over the threats from the baggy-eyed Ibrox ace.
