Bayern ace snubs Clement to join up with van Bronckhorst

Phil Clement is bracing himself to miss out on another top transfer target with Yusuf Kabadayi set to join Giovanni van Bronckhorst at Besiktas.

The Bayern Munich winger was being tipped as a game changer at the start of this week but is now likely to get the Jose Cordoba treatment as he bodyswerves the chance to sign up to the Clement Revolution!

Most transfer targets are leaked to the Rangers Review where they will apply top spin to even the most modest of CV’s with reference made to the clubs likely to miss out alongside suggestions that a move to Real Madrid or Juventus is round the corner.

Last season Micky Beale was able to splash out £15m on Danilo, Sam Lammers and Cyriel Dessers as well as bringing in other stars such as Jose Cifuentes and Kieran Dowell.

It looks unlikely that Clement will get anything close to that amount to spend with £5.5m already committed to signing Mohamed Diomande.

On June 20, Chris Jack exclusively revealed in the Rangers Review:

Yusuf Kabadayi is in line to become the fourth arrival of the summer at Ibrox after Philippe Clement continued his Rangers rebuild with the capture of Clinton Nsiala from AC Milan.

Rangers confirmed a pre-contract switch for Nsiala on Monday as the defender penned a long-term deal in Glasgow. The French youth internationalist will join up with Clement’s side on July 1 and follows Jefte, the Brazilian left-back, and winger Oscar Cortes in agreeing a move to Ibrox.

And the Rangers Review understands that Kabadayi could be the latest piece of the jigsaw for Clement as he looks to add further strength and depth to his squad ahead of the upcoming Champions League qualifiers and the new domestic campaign.

Kabadayi emerged through the ranks at Bayern Munich and spent last term on loan in 2. Bundesliga with Schalke 04, where he scored five times in 26 appearances.

He will be allowed to leave Bayern this summer and Rangers are in pole position to secure his signature as Clement targets the 20-year-old forward. Kabadayi is set to enter the final 12 months of his contract at the Allianz Arena.

Four days later it seems that Kabadayi is on his way to Besiktas, preferring to work with van Bronckhorst rather than Clement.

Almost three weeks after losing the Scottish Cup Final Clement has only managed to add Jefte and Clinton Nsiala to his squad. That is a Brazilian that failed to make a single appearance for Fluminense before being sent on loan to Cyprus and a 20-year-old French player being released by AC Milan at the end of his contract.

Speculation about links to players at AC Milan and Bayern Munich provides some comfort for bears with their squad just 10 days away from the start of pre-season training.

Soon they’ll be drooling over training ground clips of Scott Wright and Todd Cantwell with the clock starting to tick towards the Third Qualifying Round to the Champions League.

Outside of the Daily Record banging the drum for Al Ettifaq swooping to sign James Tavernier and Connor Goldson on mega-bucks deals there is barely a word of interest in Clement’s squad.

Rabbi Matondo, Sam Lammers, Ben Davies, Ridvan Yilmaz and Cyriel Dessers won’t be attracting any offers that will match their current salaries which leaves them at Ibrox alongside others like Tom Lawrence, Wright and Dowell.

There is also no sign of the expected £21m bid for Jack Butland who failed to make it into the England squad despite a spirited campaign from the Sports Desks of the Daily Record and BBC Scotland.
