‘Release the audio’ ‘Meek and pathetic’ ‘You’re part of the problem’ Celtic fans react to ‘disappointed’ statement

Celtic fans were far from impressed by their club’s feeble reaction to Brendan Rodgers being found guilty of a Notice of Complaint and handed a two match touchline ban.

The fact that one match is suspended until the end of the season seems to have been seized on as some sort of victory, meanwhile Don Robertson and John Beaton’s thought process remains a closely guarded secret.

Claims that Celtic were about to finally take on and dismantle the Scottish football establishment can be dismissed as the club statement underlined.

The club didn’t go in ‘all lawyered up’ or delivering the Desmond Dossier, the outcome was the same as one involving Gary Caldwell when he was managing Partick Thistle in 2019.

With that statement Celtic are hoping to draw a line under the matter, technically it has but with Don Robertson refereeing Sunday’s match at Livingston it won’t be dropped by supporters.

On Tuesday morning the SFA will announce the officials for the match at Ibrox, Beaton could very well have one of the key roles in that match, as referee or on VAR duty.

Typically fans are left in the dark, no explanation has surfaced for the decisions taken at Tynecastle. There has been no mention of the audio being made available, within four days of the December 30 match at Celtic Park Ibrox CEO James Bisgrove was sitting down with Ian Maxwell and Crawford Allan listening to the audio and having it explained.

Nothing further will be heard to explain the sending off of Yang Hyun-jun and the penalty awarded against Tomoki Iwata.

Going by similar incidents in the past Celtic will send out some detail to their favourite media sources to explain how resolute and strong they were at today’s hearing. Only the gullible will publish it and believe iT.
