Emotional Ibrox fans plead for Morelos to return

Despite all of the hype and spin for the summer signings there is still a sunstantial number of Ibrox fans wanting a return deal for Alfredo Morelos.

Sam Lammers, Cyriel Dessers, Abdallah Sima and Danilo have all been brought in over the last few months but there is a large Colombian shadow hovering over all Ibrox strikers.

It seems to many fans that Morelos could do no wrong despite signing off on possibly the most unprofessional standards ever seen in the SPFL.

For most of last season he seemed to be self-certifying, putting on appearances whenever he felt like it while being badly out of shape and apparently reporting for training as required.

A year ago things appeared to reach a peak when Morelos was sent on as a substitute against Hibs then red carded 13 minutes later.

After a brief club suspension Giovanni van Bronckhorst was forced to bring him back into the fold, a couple of months later the Dutch was on gardening leave.

Beale being Beale he fot that he could work his magic and restore Morelos to his 2019 levels (League Cup Final penalty miss v Celtic) but discovered that the striker had already checked out.

The ‘final’ farewell was three months ago, three months of partying in Columbia interrupted by a few social media clips to show how hard he is working to get ready for the new season.

Even though he has left Ibrox the Daily Record is still on the case, linking their favourite traffic generator with clubs from Russia to Saudi Arabia knowing full well that there is even less interest in Morelos that during his six years contracted to Ibrox.

But while he remains clubless/unemployed/a free agent there will still be hope in some Ibrox hearts that he will one day be squeezing into that famous Castore top.
