Celtic’s social media team are on course for a return to the dark days of season 20/21.
While fans watch things deteriorate rapidly on the pitch the club is trying to feed them a diet of upbeat tales to deflect away from the more pressing issues.
Three years ago Neil Lennon and Peter Lawwell were combining on a Kamikaze mission of disastrous signings and results topped off by a training trip to Dubai that had disaster stamped all over it.
Rather than accept their medicine and the repercussions of that jaunt both men doubled down as they headed out the door although in Lawwell’s case he was only resting before returning as Chairman 18 months after ‘stepping down’ as CEO.
With four days to go and nine days after losing to Kilmarnock supporters want to see signings, proper ready made first team players rather than nostalgic throwbacks to the days when there was a reasonable expectation that Juventus could be beaten in the Champions League.
In their maiden Champions League campaign the team of Larsson, Sutton, Lambert, Balde, Mjallby and Lubo took nine points from a group consisting of Juventus, Rosenborg and Porto.
Over their last three Champions League appearances Celtic have taken two points last season under Ange Postecogolou with Brendan Rodgers collecting three points in each of his attempts on the Champions League group stages.
More than a decade on from Tony Watt’s goal against Barcelona Celtic have notched up TWO more wins in the Champions League.
With the greatest respect signings from South Korea, Norway and Australia look highly unlikely to improve on last season’s efforts, especially since all of the goalscorers have now been sold.
Luis Palma and four others are expected, until the ‘Celtic are delighted to announce’ tweets are rolled out the Social Media team will be underfire, the launch of Champions League ticket packages should be handled with great care.

Maybe not the best time to be bringing up great wins in Europe when the club fails to invest in the playing squad adequately to help us improve in Europe.

If we only ever sign projects, we’ll never again experience moments like these.

That stat of 2 wins in the last 10 years is sobering stuff. If ever there was a stat telling you the club is going nowhere under this lazy good for nothing board that’s it.
