Marco Tilio has posted an emotional farewell to Melbourne City as he prepares to start his Celtic career.
On Friday it was announced that the winger was moving to Celtic on a five year contract for what is being reported as a record fee paid to an A-League club.
After three years starring for Melbourne City and picking up five caps for the Socceroos, Tilio is taking the well worn path to Europe as he attempts to take his game to the next level.
Breaking into the Celtic side will be a tough assignment for the 21-year-old to take on but moving to a club that regularly has more than 60% possession in domestic matches opens up a great opportunity for Tilio.
After 3 years at this great club it’s time for me to say goodbye. A club that made me feel a part of a family and provided me an opportunity.
I can’t thank everyone enough who have been a part of the club, making history and memories over this time some I’ll never forget. I’m honoured to have represented this club and in my time here i was able to grow as a player and most importantly a better person, it’s been incredible.
I want to thank all my teammates, the coaches and staff, also the fans who have supported me from the beginning.
Without you none of this would’ve been possible.
Thank you ❤️?゚メル @melbournecity

After that it is off to Japan for two pre-season friendlies with Tilio in line to make his debut against Yokohama F Marinos on July 19.
